Jui Ambani is a Conservation Architect from Mumbai, India, currently based in Rome, Italy. She joined ICCROM's Flagship programme, First Aid and Resilience for Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis Team in October 2020 as a consultant, researcher, and copywriter. Since then, Jui has been providing training workshops on disaster risk reduction, emergency response, and climate action, mentoring over 48 field projects, and training over 600 community members and heritage professionals in more than 20 countries. Jui's role involves working on in-crisis response training workshops post-disaster or conflict events. Currently, Jui is customizing an app that automates data collected through post-event heritage-centric rapid damage and risk assessment, which has been field-tested at over 100 sites in Ukraine, the Philippines, Pakistan, and Ecuador.
She is also implementing three capacity development initiatives in Ukraine, focusing on emergency preparedness, damage and risk assessment for tangible and intangible heritage, and first aid to cultural heritage in times of crisis. As the co-lead for all FAR communication channels and graphic design, Jui is excited to continue her research on heritage-based climate action. She has extensive experience in organizing, implementing, and facilitating hybrid workshops on heritage safeguarding using interactive tools and resources.
