Federico Raspini is Associate Professor in Physical Geography and Geomorphology at the Earth Sciences Department of the University of Florence. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Sciences in 2006 and a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences in 2008, both at the University of Florence. He received a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences in 2013 at the University of Florence with a thesis on the interpretation of satellite radar data for the mapping, monitoring and modelling of hydrogeological-induced ground deformations. He has been visiting researcher at the National Technical University of Athens in 2012.
His research currently focuses on the use of radar interferometric techniques (both space-borne and ground-based) for the detection, characterization and monitoring of geohazards. He has been involved in several international projects funded by ESA and EU.
He is currently involved in EU-funded projects, in national initiatives with the Italian Civil Protection Department and in several projects with local authorities, dealing with prediction and prevention of slope movements.
