Dr. Arianna Traviglia is the Coordinator of the Centre for Cultural Heritage Technology (CCHT) at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT). Her work bridges technology and humanities, focusing on integrating digital practices in the study, protection, and management of cultural heritage. At CCHT, she supervises research in remote sensing, AI, computer vision, nanotechnologies, and robotics applied to cultural heritage. Dr. Traviglia's expertise lies in multi-spectral and hyperspectral imaging, both close and far-range. She has been or is currently Coordinator, PI or CoI of several EC-funded projects and is coordinating 3 projects funded by ESA and ASI focused on the preservation of cultural heritage based on EO data. She is an Expert Collaborator for the Council of Europe for the use of AI in Cultural heritage within the Committee for Culture, Heritage and Landscape (CDCPP) and chairs the Technical-Scientific Committee of the CDP Foundation. In 2021, she was awarded the ‘Techno-visionary Woman’ prize, listed among Forbes Italy’s 100 Successful Women, and received the ‘Innovation Leader Award’ from ANGI. In 2024, she received the Legambiente Award and the International Archaeology Award Zeus, in the Innovation and Technology category.
