As Manager, Adaptation to Climate Change at Climate Alliance, Alison co-leads the adaptation efforts of the EU Covenant of Mayors as well as supports coordination efforts with key partners in relation to Energy Poverty and on use of space based services to support green and sustainable cities. Alison is also task manager for an urban adaptation research programme commissioned by the European Environment Agency leading the work on Just Resilience.
Prior to this, as Strategic Projects Lead at the Green Infrastructure Exchange, Alison led strategic initiatives aimed at supporting case-making for Green Infrastructure across North America. As Senior Advisor at the Water Center at Penn, she worked with communities to develop integrated solutions to complex urban water resource challenges, situating these solutions within the broader set of sustainability issues. As head of Strategic Partnerships at Bioversity International, Alison focused my partnership development efforts on those that helped achieve development impact as well as provide secure funding streams for the institution. This work built on her four years of experience working for Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade both in food security and rural development policy and within the Papua New Guinea program. The foundation of all this experience was her three years working in Swaziland, establishing social enterprise initiatives to support and empower marginalized people and communities.
Alison holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management from Duke University, USA a second master’s degree in International Development from RMIT, Australia and a double undergraduate degree in Arts and Commerce from University of Melbourne, Australia.
