Tourism and Cultural Heritage

In the tourism and cultural heritage sectors, EU Space data enables the development of tools based on environmental monitoring data and climate change forecasts to support strategic decision-making, mitigate climate risks and monitor environmental impacts.

Thanks to groundbreaking developments in 3D rendering techniques, companies are increasingly using EGNSS-powered drones and photogrammetry cameras to preserve detailed digital copies of landmarks and implement them in new immersive applications.

This session will discuss the needs and opportunities for these innovative EO- and GNSS-based solutions, allowing participants to share feedback with EUSPA and the Copernicus programme and shape the future of EU space services.

Infrastructure and 5G

We will explore the challenges faced by the infrastructure community and the new challenges that have emerged in recent years.

The protection of infrastructure against various threats (e.g.: natural disasters, terrorist attacks, cyber threats) and the resilience of entities managing the infrastructure are crucial for modern societies. Any disruption of essential services can have cascading effects, potentially resulting in a far-reaching and long-term negative impact on the delivery of services across the internal market. Whatever the type of infrastructure (e.g., factories, power plants, water plants), GNSS and EO support the actors involved in infrastructure management in their effort to increase the safety of operations and productivity, while improving infrastructure resilience and safeguarding the environment.

Emergency Management and Humanitarian Aid (afternoon session: Human Rights)

This session brings together both governmental end-users and industry, to discuss how the EU Space Programme data and services, provided by Galileo, EGNOS, Copernicus, and IRIS2, can evolve to better address the challenges in the field.

In the afternoon session, participants will explore ways to improve the use and uptake of EU Space data for supporting the monitoring and documentation of human rights violations.

Timing and Synchronization

The session will focus on the needs and requirements of telecom, finance, and energy operators by delivering insights related to the market trends and the technology readiness, including the updates on the standardisation of Galileo timing receivers.

The timing capability offered by satellite navigation systems is at the core of most vital infrastructures: telecom networks operation, energy distribution and financial transactions are some examples of areas where GNSS is used for timing and/or synchronisation purposes. GNSS is widely used by the T&S community as it provides accurate, “low cost” and widely available timing services allowing time, phase, and frequency network synchronisation.

Aviation and Drones (afternoon session)

The session will bring together aviation and drone ecosystem players to discuss key user requirements, and the latest trends like advanced air mobility or operations at higher altitudes.

We will cover the added value of EGNOS and Galileo differentiators, such as authentication and high accuracy, and the users’ needs to improve the services. The session will also explore EO use cases, and particularly Copernicus data, to support aviation, such as in-flight procedure design, or drone safety assessment. For the first time, the participants will discuss their needs in SATCOM services, and how the future European Secure SATCOM can support their operations.

This session is divided into a morning and afternoon session.

Health and Wellbeing

The session will look at the most recent applications in the health tech market, highlighting how EO is becoming a valuable addition to enhancing the development of patient-centric solutions. Real-world examples will be presented, illustrating how EO is being applied to prevent and monitor respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

This session will also give you the most up-to-date overview of available Earth Observation services for healthcare providers, with a focus on data on air quality, pollution, pollen, heatwaves, UV exposure, and water quality. There will be a discussion on how these data sets can be improved to address user needs and requirements of today’s healthcare landscape.

Additionally, you will have an opportunity to engage with key stakeholders who share their ideas on how to increase awareness of using EO data in health applications, tackle the market and regulatory barriers, as well as set priorities for future innovations in the healthcare domain.

Raw Materials

We will discuss how the EU Space Programme, through Copernicus, can support the raw materials sector in meeting these needs and overcoming market barriers.

The monitoring and management of raw materials through EO services are crucial for sustainable development and economic stability in modern societies. The sector significantly impacts various industries, and efficient resource management is essential for maintaining vital economic activities within the internal market of an increasingly interconnected European economy.

The focus will be on topics like environmental impact monitoring for mines and mining site exploration, planning, and monitoring.

Fisheries and Aquaculture

The session will provide an opportunity for the participants to share their needs, requirements, and insights on how the EU Space data and services provided by Galileo, EGNOS, Copernicus and IRIS2 can contribute to this sector today and in the future.

Some topics that will be discussed are fisheries catch optimisation (including route optimisation), aquaculture operations optimisation and marine pollution monitoring.

The opening for Maritime and Inland Waterways and Fisheries and Aquaculture will take place at the same time. Please consult the session agenda and enrol in the morning session.
